Delta State University students, faculty, staff and members of the community are invited to attend a memorial service Friday, April 11 at 8 p.m. for Merve Terzioglu. The service will begin in Wyatt Gymnasium before moving into the DSU Aquatics Center for a candlelight vigil.
“Merve was such an inspiration to us all and we want to take time Friday to honor and remember her life. She was a star in and out of the pool and her impact on this program will never be forgotten,” said Brian Hein, Head Coach of the Delta State Swimming and Diving teams.
Terzioglu, a native of Istanbul, Turkey, was a junior general business administration major and a swimmer on the Lady Statesmen Swimming and Diving team. Tragically, Terzioglu lost her fight on April 7 from injuries received in an automobile accident on March 29.
