Madison Center features women in politics

The Madison Center, DSU Votes and Common Sense Action will be hosting a week of women in politics beginning Oct. 20.

The schedule opens with Dionne Bailey Oct. 20 at noon in the Capps Archives seminar room. Bailey, a doctoral student at the University of Mississippi, will discuss women at the Parchman Mississippi State Penitentiary.

Featured Oct. 21 at noon in the Jacob Conference Center is author Rebecca Sive. Sive will provide insight on women in politics.

Nancy Bocskor, an International Democratic Adviser and professor at George Washington University, will discuss women, power and politics on Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. in Jobe Hall.

On Oct. 23 at noon on the second floor west lobby of the H.L. Nowell Student Union, Brookhaven Senator Sally Doty will share details on life as a woman in the Mississippi legislature.

At 7:30 on Oct. 23, at the same Union location, Doty and Bocskor will discuss a path to public policy.
