Lotven enjoys welcome reception at Delta State, sets Feb. start date

Dr. Ann Lotven, Delta State’s new Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, introduced herself to Ronnie Mayers, Assistant Athletic Director for Special Projects and Director of Aquatics, during a “Welcome Reception” held in Lotven’s honor Wednesday afternoon. Lotven will begin her work on the Cleveland campus, Monday, Feb. 4, 2008.

Dr. Ann Lotven, Delta State University’s new Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, enjoyed Wednesday’s “Welcome Reception” held in her honor inside the atrium of Kent Wyatt Hall on campus.

She and her husband, Dr. Brian Lotven, a consultant on education leadership, had the opportunity to meet and mingle with DeltaState faculty, staff, students, as well as well-wishers from the community during the afternoon reception.
 
Lotven was announced as DeltaState’s next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs earlier this month, following a four-month search that included over 30 candidates.
 
She comes to DSU from TexasA&MUniversityTexarkana, where she has served as the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs since 2004. Previous positions include Dean of the College of Education at OklahomaStateUniversity from 1995 to 2004, Associate Dean for Administration at TexasTechUniversity from 1990 to 1995 and Professor of Education at TexasTechUniversity from 1976 to 1995.
 
Lotven will begin her tenure with DeltaState next year. An official start date of Monday, Feb. 4 has been set.
