Jackson to perform senior recital

Kayla Jackson, a music education major, presents her senior recital April 23 at 1:40 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center.

The Delta State University Department of Music announces the senior recital of Kayla Jackson, a music education major. The recital will take place April 23 beginning at 1:40 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center.

Jackson will be accompanied by members of the percussion studio. The recital is free and open to the public.

Jackson is the daughter of Chris and Rhonda Jackson of Ripley, Miss. and is a percussion student under Dr. Josh Armstrong. She is a transfer to Delta State coming from Northeast Community College.

Since arriving at Delta State, Jackson has performed with the DSU Wind Ensemble, DSU Symphonic Band, Pride of the Delta Marching Band and Drumline, DSU Steel Bands, DSU Percussion Ensemble, and the Community Drumming and Dance Ensemble. She is an active member of Mu Phi Epsilon. 

Jackson will be performing works by Nathan Daughtrey, Casey Cangelosi, Alice Gomez, L.V. Beethoven and The Beatles.
