Dr. Carl R. Boyd, author of “The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln: The True Story Your Teacher Did Not Tell You,” will give a lecture on the conspiracy behind the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln as part of the 20th Anniversary Elliott-Nowell-White Science Symposium. The lecture will take place on Thursday, October 11, at 5:30 p.m. in the Jobe Hall Auditorium on the campus of Delta State University. Following the lecture, Boyd will sign copies of his book. Copies of “The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln: The True Story Your Teacher Did Not Tell You” will be available for purchase for $20 with proceeds going to the Children’s Hospital in Savannah, GA. Signed copies will also be given out as raffle prizes to Delta State students attending the lecture courtesy of Dr. Robert Elliott, founder of the symposium.

Dr. Carl Boyd is a professor of surgery at Mercer University School of Medicine and Memorial Health University Medical Center. He teaches medical students and residents in surgery from many institutions. He is an internationally recognized lecturer who has presented and taught in 14 different countries and has published over 60 scientific articles. For 25 years, Boyd was Chief of Trauma Surgery and Surgical Critical Care at a level one trauma center in Savannah, Georgia. He was the surgeon designated by the American College of Surgeons to care for the President and Vice President of the United States should the need arise when they travelled in south Georgia. Boyd lectures on presidential assassinations, the history of surgery as told through art, biography, and aphorism, as well as many other topics in surgical care. He has served as a reviewer on numerous editorial boards of medical journals.
