Corazon de Dixie

Dr. Julie Weise will deliver a talk about Mexican immigration into the Mississippi Delta since 1910. Dr. Weise is an expert on immigration, Latino immigration, race and identity. At the University of Oregon, she is an assistant professor of history. Her book, Corazon de Dixie: Mexicanos in the U.S. South, looks at the history of Mexican immigration in Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Georgia and North Carolina.
