Delta State Veterans’ Atrium receives contribution from Aguzzi

Vicki Fioranelli,  Joe Aguzzi and Dr. James Robinson

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Aguzzi, of Cleveland, recently made a generous donation to the Veterans’ Atrium located in Jobe Hall on the Delta State campus. Aguzzi is a decorated WWII veteran.

It was the idea of Dr. James Robinson, Delta State Professor of History, to turn the bleak atrium of Jobe Hall into a memorial to honor military veterans. Vicki Fioranelli, retired director of Delta State’s Alumni Affairs, assisted in promoting the transformation.

Funds are being used to decorate and furnish the open air atrium in honor of veterans.  The names of those who have served in any branch of the military can be listed.  A donor recognition plaque shaped like a tree will be placed on the wall with leaves that will bear the names of the veterans.  For giving levels, please contact the DSU Alumni/Foundation at (662) 846-4660.
