Delta State Continuing Ed offers new line-up of classes for spring

Delta State University’s Graduate and Continuing Studies will offer a new line-up of classes for the spring semester that includes a World of the New Testament Lecture Series and an After School Arts Program for students in grades 1 through6.
 
The New Testament Lecture Series will cover Alexander, the successor kingdoms, the Maccabean revolt and the relation between Rome and its provinces and client kingdoms. The cultural section of the course will cover the literary heritage and expectations of the Hellenic world, as well as religious movements that early Christians encountered.
 
Aaron Rowley will be the instructor for the lecture series, and it is scheduled to meet each Thursday, Jan. 15, 22, 29, and Feb. 5, 12, and 19 from 6 to7:30 p.m. in Room 137 of Kethley Hall on campus.
 
The registration fee is $45, and the deadline to register is Wednesday, Jan. 14.
 
In the After School Arts Program, children will be encouraged to discover their creative side. Beginners, as well as advanced students, will be instructed on techniques used to create individual works of art.
 
Allegra Cope will be the instructor for the program, and it is scheduled to meet on Tuesdays from Jan. 27 to April 28 in Room 112 of the Wright Art Building on campus.
 
Students in grades 1through3 will meet from 3:15 to4:15 p.m., and students in grades 4through 6 will meet from 4:20 to 5:20 p.m.
 
The fee is $115, which includes materials. Deadline to register is Thursday, Jan. 15.
