Delta State University’s Office of Communications and Marketing brought home six awards from the America Advertising Federation’s (AAF) District Seven ADDY Awards Ceremony held recently in Indianola. Delta State received one Gold ADDY, four Silver ADDYs, and one Bronze ADDY and a Best of Show award.

Delta State was awarded Gold ADDY and the Best of Show in Print award for its newspaper admissions ad campaign “Join in. Stand Out” designed by Laura Fleeman Walker, Delta State graphic designer.

The campaign also won a Silver ADDY in the newspaper campaign-color category.

Walker, along with Communications and Marketing Director Michael Gann and Photographer Bill Moses received a Silver ADDY in the annual report category for Delta State’s 2008-09 President’s Report.

Walker, Gann, Moses, and Delta State Vice President for University Relations Michelle Roberts won a Silver ADDY in magazine design for the Delta State Foundation 2009 Fall Alumni Magazine and a Bronze ADDY for the 2009 Spring Alumni Magazine.

The Mississippi Summer Arts Institute logo designed by Walker for Delta State’s Bologna Performing Arts Center brought home a Silver ADDY.

“We are honored to be recognized by the Mississippi Delta chapter of the AAF,” said Gann. “The fact that we doubled the number of awards from last year is a testament to the efforts of our staff and to the creative talents of Laura Walker who designed every piece we entered in the competition.”
