Delta State Archives & Museum to open Delta Hip Hop Exhibit

The Delta State University Archives and Museum, in partnership with the 2009 Delta Hip Hop Conference, will host an opening reception for its Hip Hop in the Delta: An Exhibit on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. at the Charles W. Capps, Jr. Archives building on the Delta State campus. The exhibit will run through April 30.
 
Hip Hop in the Delta: An Exhibit will include the music of hip-hop, a documentary of local hip-hop in Clarksdale, photographs,  hip-hop style clothing, the equipment of the trade, artwork and more.   

 
As part of the opening, DSU fashion merchandising students in the College of Education who are enrolled in the Historic Costume class elected to create original Hip Hop apparel designs for their class projects. These designs will be modeled by Delta State University students during the opening reception.
 
The exhibit opening will also feature live performances by hip-hop artists Top Notch the Villain from Clarksdale, and Wyld Bill from Cleveland.
