The Delta State Chorale and Chamber Singers will present “Songs of the People,” a concert of folk music and prayers, at Our Lady of Victories on Nov. 3 at 3 p.m.

Director of Choral Activities and Assistant Professor of Music Nicholaus B. Cummins said, “This concert is our first of this year so we hope you can come and join us.”

The choral program at Delta State features two large ensembles and a chamber choir, offering a variety of singing opportunities for both music majors and non-majors that cultivate vocal skills and performance. The choirs sing a wide range of repertoire from various styles and time periods. In recent years, the choirs have completed tours of New York (2005), England (2006), Washington, D.C. (2008), Austria and the Czech Republic (2010), and New York (2012).

The Department of Music at Delta State University offers undergraduate degrees in liberal arts, music education, and music performance. For more information, contact the Music Office at 662-846-4615, or send email to music@deltastate.edu.
