David Andrew Carter (at left), a Delta State freshman aviation management major of Grenada, was the recipient of the Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) Freshman Leadership Award. Pictured with Carter is Katie Morrison of Yazoo City, a Delta State student and vice president of the Delta State Chapter of ODK.

Each spring, the Delta State University Chapter of ODK selects a first year student who shows good leadership qualities to receive the ODK Freshman Leadership Award.  The recipient should exhibit such qualities as a high grade point average, a propensity to be active in campus and community affairs, and an assumption of leadership role.

Carter’s qualifications include a perfect 4.00 GPA at the end of his first semester at Delta State. He is a member of the Wesley Foundation and “The Narrow Path” worship band, and a member of Grenada First United Methodist Church. He has also been inducted into the international aviation fraternity Alpha Eta Rho.
