Brass Ensembles to perform in concert at Delta State

Delta State University’s Department of Music will present the Brass Ensembles in concert on Tuesday, April 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall of Bologna Performing Arts Center. 

 
The concert will include performances by both the Delta State Trumpet Choir, directed by Dr. Paul Hankins as well as the DSU Low Brass Ensemble, directed by Dr. Douglas Mark. 
 
In addition to the two choirs, the concert will feature a number of smaller brass chamber groups, including the “Us and the Daves” Tuba-Euphonium Quartet, the “Intact” Trombone Quartet, and the “Euphonisms” Euphonium Trio.
 
The performance will include music from a wide variety of time periods and styles.
 
The Trumpet Ensemble will perform compositions by David Uber, Robert Muczynski, Jean-Joseph Mouret and David Marlatt. 
 
The Low Brass Ensembles’selected works will include Hector Berlioz “HungarianMarch,” William Byrd’s “AveVerum,” and “How Lovely is Thy Dwelling Place” from Brahms’ “German Requiem”among many others.  There will be something for everyone!
