BPAC’s 20th anniversary season ends on high note

The Bologna Performing Arts Center at Delta State University had its ninth and final performance of the 2014-15 season April 28 when the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical “Million Dollar Quartet” played to an at-capacity crowd with rave reviews.

This year marked the 20th Anniversary Season and set recent records for ticket sales, attendance and donations.

“This kind of community support helps us not only in the current year, but gives us confidence in booking future seasons as we seek to increase the quality of the center’s programs” said Amanda Turner, BPAC Advisory Board and Programming Committee member.

Highlights of the 2014-2015 Main Stage season included three Broadway musicals, two concerts, two family productions, a dramatic play and one cirque event. The School-Time Matinee Series featured four productions for students in grades preK-12. Several recent releases of major motion pictures were also shown as part of the BPAC’s movie series.

Sponsors of the 2014-2015 season include Associate Partners: Bolivar Medical Center, Guaranty Bank and Planters Bank, and Supporting Partners: Entergy and Monsanto.

The BPAC will officially announce its 2015-16 season the first week of June, and plans are underway to bring in major artists and icons. Patrons of the annual membership program will be have first access to the new schedule and the first opportunity to purchase tickets.

Annual Members are individuals who make tax-deductible contributions to the BPAC which aid its artistic and educational programming efforts. The BPAC currently has over 150 donors in its annual membership program. Anyone can join the program with memberships starting at $50. The program has numerous has added benefits, including pre-show receptions, same seating and parking.
