For the second consecutive year, the Bologna Performing Arts Center has been awarded $3,000 by the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi to help introduce the performing arts to Mississippi school children. The money will go toward providing free admission to live matinee performances like “Rock the Presidents”, which was held on November 1st and was attend by over 1,500 students in the Delta area.  Due to the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi’s generous grant, 500 students from Coahoma, Quitman, Tallahatchie, and Tunica counties will have the opportunity to attend matinee performances at the Bologna Performing Arts Center.

A grant presentation was held on November 1st at the “Rock the Presidents” matinee performance. Mr. Tom Pittman, president of the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi, presented the grant to members of the BPAC Arts Education Advisory Board. “The Bologna Performing Arts Center is very appreciative of this generous grant provided by the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi,” said Whitney Cummins, BPAC Interim Arts Education Coordinator. “For the second consecutive year, we are able to provide performing arts experiences to more students by removing the ticket cost barrier.”

The BPAC is offering three more matinee performances this season. Upcoming performances include “The True Story of the Three Little Pigs” on January 29, “Clifford the Big Red Dog- Live!” on February 19, and “Click, Clack, Moo” on April 19.
