The Delta State University Chapter of Alpha Eta Rho recently hosted a cookout for the Department of Commercial Aviation. The cookout was for aviation students, faculty, staff, advisory board members, alumni and friends. This year’s back to school cookout had the largest attendance with 75 aviation enthusiasts, including President William LaForge and First Lady Nancy LaForge.

Alpha Eta Rho is the oldest professional aviation fraternity. The fraternity seeks to enhance the aviation experience and strengthen bonds for students within the aviation community.  Alpha Eta Rho is open to all collegiate men and women who have a strong interest in, or who are currently seeking careers in any field within aviation and aerospace.

The Department of Commercial Aviation offers a Bachelor of Commercial Aviation (BCA) as well as a Master of Commercial Aviation (MCA). The department provides courses in general aviation, aviation management, and airway science.  Students have access to a flight training fleet, which includes over 15 aircrafts and 3 multiengine training planes. Delta State is the only institution in Mississippi currently offering these degree programs.
