Sung-Eun Ryu, a bachelor of music major in piano performance, will perform her senior recital on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 7:30 P.M. in the Bologna Performing Arts Center Recital Hall. The recital, presented by the Delta State University Department of Music, is free and open to the public.
She will perform selections by Bach, Beethoven, Liszt, Scriabin, and Prokofiev.
Ryu, an international student from Gyeonggi-do Hwaseong, South Korea, is a member of Delta State Chorale and Wind Ensemble. She is also the pianist at St. Luke Methodist Church in Cleveland. Ryu has won several honors for her piano performances, including representing Mississippi in the Music Teachers National Association competitions, first place in the Mississippi Music Teachers Association Collegiate Competitions, and awards in the DSU chamber ensemble competition. She has twice been selected to perform on the DSU Department of Music Honors recital. Ryu has consistently earned placement on the dean’s and president’s lists for her academic work. She studies with Music Department Chair Dr. Karen Fosheim.
