By May 6, 2009General

The After School Arts Program at Margaret Green Junior High School will celebrate its year-long program with a two-day art exhibition displaying the works of area students.  The exhibit will be held Friday, May 8 from 4– 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 9 from 10 a.m.– 6 p.m.  at the Delta Arts Alliance Annex building on Court Street.

Completing its third year, the After School Arts program offers art instruction in nine areas: drawing, painting, sculpture, video, photography, printmaking, fiber design, ceramics, and graphic design.

The program initially provided art instruction for about 25 students at Margaret Green which had no art program. Enrollment for the program has grown steadily with over 80 students, including students from Cleveland High School and East Side High School, currently participating.

The exhibit is free and open to the public.
