Fireside Chat – October 8, 2018 – International Business Symposium

The world of business today is truly global, and it revolves around fascinating numbers and percentages. Here are some impressive figures about Delta State’s upcoming International Business Symposium:

•8 international business experts spoke at the previous two symposia.
•Delta State has been presenting an international business symposium for 14 years.
•UPS profits rose 43 percent last year. The CEO and chairman of the world’s largest package delivery company is Delta State’s own David Abney. He and his wife, Sherry, established the symposium, and he returns to campus to deliver the keynote address.
•Press-Seal Corp. manufactures 11,255 different products for sealing underground collections systems worldwide. CFO and Delta State alumnus Arian Maliqi, who earned a B.A. in business administration in 2010 and an MBA in 2011, will also speak at this year’s symposium, among others.

When our students graduate, they will enter a global marketplace and all its challenges.

Delta State’s International Business Symposium, taking place on October 11-12 in Jobe Hall, maintains a history of bringing notable speakers from the business world to campus, and this year is no different. They’ll address the theme: “The Global Financial Market.”

In other news on campus, Dr. Mark Emmert, president of the NCAA, will deliver the Colloquia Series address as part of Delta State’s distinguished speakers lecture series on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Jobe Auditorium. And, Career Services is hosting their fall career fair on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Wyatt Gym.
