Fireside Chat – July 23, 2018 – Jim Miller, Director of Career Services

President LaForge is joined by Jim Miller, Delta State’s new Director of Career Services.

Jim joins the Delta State family from Mississippi College where he served many roles during his five-year tenure there, including his most recent position as Director of Career Services. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in his new role at Delta State. Jim grew up in Tupelo and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi and his Master’s degree from Mississippi College.

Delta State’s Office of Career Services exists to assist students in realizing their post-graduation goals. The staff help students with document preparation, such as resumes and cover letters, coach them on professionalism and the interview process, as well as serve as a liaison between students and employers through the Statesmen Connect job portal, career events, and internships.

In other news on campus, the start of the 2018-19 academic year is quickly approaching. We will kick off the Fall semester with New Student Week scheduled for August 12-18.
