Fireside Chat – June 4, 2018 – International Programs

Joining President LaForge are Christy Riddle, the Executive Director of the Student Success Center, and Michelle Johansen, Coordinator of the Quality Enhancement Plan and Study Abroad Program.

Study Abroad, the newest division of the DSU Student Success Center, provides students and faculty with opportunities to participate in academic and cultural programs around the world.

Many of our professors find that the most successful graduates are those who have international experience, cross-cultural communication skills, and the ability to discuss cultural issues from multiple informed perspectives. Study abroad makes our students more career-ready and competitive on a global scale, in that they are internationally savvy, adaptable within culturally diverse environments, and are able to communicate with varying populations.

In other news on campus, Delta State’s photographer and news writer, Rory Doyle a 2011 graduate, will exhibit his ongoing documentary photography project on Mississippi Delta African-American cowboys and cowgirls at two New York City galleries in June.

Our summer camps are in full swing. There are still many more chances to take part in a Delta State summer camp. Just visit our website www.deltastate.edu/summercamps for a listing of summer camps available.
