Delta State University fashion merchandising students recently took part in the Mississippi Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Conference at Mississippi State University.

Mallory McWhorter won third place in the Apparel Design competition. She is a senior fashion merchandising student in the College of Education and Human Science’s Division of Family and Consumer Sciences.

In total, five Delta State students participated in the conference.

“Our students had the fortunate opportunity of competing at the state level, and we are very proud of Mallory’s award,” said Dr. Jan Haynes, professor of fashion merchandising. “Fashion merchandising students at Delta State are granted a number of opportunities to take part in design competitions, which is great training for their professional endeavors.”
