Go Green Weekend cooking competition announced

Delta State University looks forward to hosting the fourth annual Go Green Weekend, scheduled on campus April 7-9.

Celebrate the spring season with live entertainment, tailgating, a jambalaya cook-off, athletic games, activities for the family and more. Come out to support the Statesmen and Okra for a weekend of food, fun and sports.

The exciting program of activities is sponsored by Delta State’s Office of Admissions, National Alumni Association, Athletics and Student Life.

The weekend serves as a get-together for current students, alumni, friends, faculty and staff on campus. Events include live entertainment Friday night, Admissions Day for prospective students and a Cook Team Competition on Saturday. There will also be a number of athletic events going on throughout the weekend.

Categories include Jambalaya Any Way and Sausage Any Way.

“Go Green Weekend brings fellowship among alumni and friends of Delta State University,” said Jeffrey Farris. “The full schedule is available on the Delta State website.”
