McLemore named Employee of the Month

Diana McLemore, admissions recruiter, is the February 2016 Employee of the Month.

The Delta State University Staff Council recently honored Diana McLemore, admissions recruiter, as the February 2016 Employee of the Month.

McLemore, a Grenada native, has been on staff as a recruiter for nearly three years. Her recruiting area is the Mississippi Delta region.

She is a 2012 Delta State graduate who majored in marketing, and she also received her MBA from Delta State in 2014. As a student, she was involved with Delta Mu Delta, Phi Mu fraternity, Diamond Girl, Pageant Board and Union Program Council.

McLemore grew up coming to Cleveland to visit family and attend Delta State games, where her grandfather, Cary Sandifer, drove the athletic bus for the university. She is engaged to Loyd McDowell, a staff member at the Bologna Performing Arts Center. The couple will marry in April.

Each Employee of the Month winner receives a plaque, monetary award, WalMart gift card from the Student Government Association, an engraved insulated coffee mug, a free parking decal courtesy of the Campus Police Department, a box of treats from The Sweetery, a parking spot of their choice, marquee announcement and website recognition.

Delta State’s Staff Council serves as a liaison between the administration and the staff to provide a formal process for staff to discuss issues involving university policies and procedures and to forward ideas, recommendations and opinions to the president.
