Sunday service set to honor Bill Moses

A Celebration of Life service for William Ples “Bill” Moses, long-time Delta State employee, will be held on Sunday (Sept. 13) at 2 p.m. in the Jobe Hall Auditorium. Moses, 61, of Ruleville, passed away at St. Francis Hospital, in Memphis, Tennessee, after a brief illness.

Moses was born October 14, 1953, in Greenwood, to W.P. “Buddy” Moses and Lizzie Bell Leggett Moses. He was a graduate of Sam Houston State University as well as Delta State University.

He married Teresa Ann Bruce on March 28, 1994, in Ruleville. He had a lifelong love of photography and enjoyed teaching others. He captured many precious moments for others and enjoyed sharing his talent of taking pictures with others. He was a long time employee of Delta State University. While at DSU, he was the assistant to the Director of Facilities Management, worked on the yearbook, taught photo-journalism classes and was the official photographer for the university. He previously worked at the Bolivar Commercial and as a high school teacher. He loved the outdoors and working in his yard. He loved his family and 2 dogs, Maggie and Bruce. He enjoyed helping others and was known to be a kind, gentle soul to all.

He is preceded in death by his parents, W.P. “Buddy” Moses and Lizzie Bell Leggett Moses.

Bill is survived by his wife, Teresa Ann Bruce Moses of Ruleville; daughters, Emily Tackett (Blake) and Jennifer Parks (A.W.) both of Cleveland; grandchildren, Preston Davis, Landon Knight, Alex Parks, Trevor Parks, Tristan Parks and Mabrey-Anne Parks all of Cleveland; sister, Margie Sizemore of Cleveland; nephew, Dennis Sizemore (Trent) of Salt Lake City, Utah; and great-nephew, Paul Michael Sizemore of Salt Lake City, Utah.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Delta State University Alumni Association in Bill’s honor.
