Fashion merchandising students Ashton Roach, left, and DeAudriana Jones recently competed in the Apparel Design Exhibit at the Dallas Scholarship Competition sponsored by Fashion Group International.

Ashton Roach, a senior fashion merchandising major from Hernando, was recently recognized for submitting one of the top 30 designs for the Apparel Design Exhibit at the Dallas Scholarship Competition sponsored by Fashion Group International.

Ashton designed a wearable art wedding dress entry of repurposed paper.

DeAudriana Jones, a sophomore fashion merchandising student from Cleveland, was also recognized for her career wear outfit of Mohair.

Dr. Jan Haynes, professor of fashion merchandising in the College of Education and Human Sciences, noted there were 300 entries in three apparel/design categories submitted to the annual competition.
