The Woodwind Chamber Ensembles Concert comes to the Bologna Performing Arts Center Recital Hall stage April 23 at 7:30 p.m.

The Delta State University Department of Music presents the Woodwind Chamber Ensembles Concert April 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Bologna Performing Arts Center Recital Hall. Featured at the event will be the DSU Flute Ensemble, the DSU Clarinet Quartet and the DSU Saxophone Quartet.

The DSU Flute Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Shelley Collins, associate professor of music, will perform a Celtic folk song, music inspired by Appalachia and a work for flute quartet by Dubois. Members of the ensemble include Lindsey Belton of Olive Branch, Amanda Corkran of Olive Branch, Elizabeth Long of Burnsville, Amanda Lutz of Horn Lake, Rosemary O’Quin of Ellisville and Laura Strong of Olive Branch.

The DSU Clarinet Quartet, under the direction of Dr. Bret Pimentel, assistant professor of music, will perform works by Haydn, Joplin, and Grundman. Members of the ensemble include Emily Hercules of Ripley, Mallory Morrow of Southaven, Elizabeth Ogle of Vicksburg and Tirzah Simmons of Horn Lake.

The DSU Saxophone Quartet, under the direction of Dr. Pimentel, will perform works by Lantier, Krell and Singelée . Members of the ensemble include Sara Crider of Purvis, Colby Kee of Southaven, Kevin Sherman of Ellisville and Rory Dale Young II of Corinth.
