The Band Perry to perform at Delta State

GRAMMY winners The Band Perry come to Delta State June 29 at 7:30 p.m.

GRAMMY Museum© Mississippi and Bolivar Medical Center have partnered to bring GRAMMY-winning country artists The Band Perry to McCool Stadium on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

“Since GRAMMY Museum© Mississippi is opening later this year, we wanted to stage some events leading up to our grand opening,” said Lucy Janoush, Cleveland Music Foundation board president. “The Band Perry will be an awesome way to kick this off.”

GMM Executive Director Emily Havens said, “With The Band Perry coming off of a huge win of their first GRAMMY©, we are so excited to be able to make this happen. Their music combines a little rock with some country and appeals to people of all ages. Their show is elaborate and quite entertaining.”

Since releasing their self-titled debut album in 2010, The Band Perry have ascended to dizzying heights. Fronted by Kimberly Perry and rounded out by her younger brothers Neil and Reid, the band has notched a string of hit singles, including the quadruple-platinum “If I Die Young” and “Done,” the platinum “You Lie” and the gold-certified Country #1 “All Your Life.”

Their recent GRAMMY© win was for Glen Campbell’s “Gentle on My Mind” for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. They’ve also enjoyed sold-out tours and a showering of honors, including multiple ACM, CMA and CMT Music awards, as well as GRAMMY©, TeenChoice, AMA, ACA and Billboard Music award nominations — all of which has cemented the sibling trio as one of the hottest acts in recent history.

Both Havens and Janoush expressed thanks to Charly Abraham, Delta Music Institute instructor, for his role in coordinating and producing the concert.

“Charly has a long, successful history of arranging and producing top-notch events, and we are so fortunate to have him here for Delta State and the community,” said Havens. “Also, this is an incredible opportunity for Delta State’s DMI students to get hands-on experience in the music industry by helping Charly with the production.”

Havens also commended Bolivar Medical Center for being the title sponsor for the event.

“The GRAMMY© organization is all about forming partnerships to provide music and educational opportunities to the public,” she said. “Bolivar Medical Center has stepped up for our first event, and we are grateful for their commitment to helping us with our mission.”

“Bolivar Medical Center is excited to have the opportunity to be a part of contributing to the success of the GRAMMY Museum© Mississippi through sponsoring The Band Perry,” said CEO Rob Marshall.

All proceeds from the concert will benefit the construction of GRAMMY Museum© Mississippi. GMM is owned and operated by the Cleveland Music Foundation, 501C3non-profit. Any donations are tax deductible and sponsorship opportunities are still available.
