National Alumni Association Board holds winter meeting

The Delta State University National Alumni Association Board of Directors recently held the annual winter meeting Friday, Feb. 20, at the Hugh Ellis Walker Alumni-Foundation House. The Executive Committee met that morning preceding a luncheon at noon. The lunch featured campus guests, including Dr. Wayne Blansett, and a university update from President William LaForge. The full board met that afternoon.

Rob Armour, a ‘95 Delta State graduate from Madison, Miss. is currently serving as president of the board.  Armour is the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer at BankPlus. He is a graduate of Leadership Mississippi and graduated with honors from the American Bankers Association School of Bank Marketing. Armour serves as president of the Friends of Children’s Hospital Board of Directors. While at Delta State, he was a member of the Tennis Team, Student Government Association and Kappa Alpha Order. Armour was also a member of the Student Hall of Fame, and he received the Kent Wyatt Young Alumnus of the Year Award in 2009. He and his wife Tamyne have three children, Larisa (15), Patrick (12) and Nikolai (12). This is his third term on the Delta State University National Alumni Association Board of Directors.
