Popovich and pets dazzle BPAC crowd

Gregory Popovich and his Comedy Pet Theater amazed the Bologna Performing Arts Center crowd recently as a pony, dogs, cats, birds and even hamsters performed on stage.

Popovich’s amazing pet crew rolled over and over, displaying the dedication and hard work put into the production.

Performances and skits included pets balancing objects, playing sports, climbing ladders and poles, and even dancing. Popovich also included acts in which he and his companions juggled and jumped roped.

Popovich is a fourth-generation Russian Circus performer. Everything Popovich has learned comes from his personal coaches and teachers — Alexei Popovich (father) and Tamara Alexandrova (mother).

He displays his strong family bond on stage. His daughter also performed on stage by hula hooping with numerous hoops at once.

Popovich is also known to have a true passion for saving animals. Most of his performing pets are strays that are rescued and provided a second chance in life.

After the show, audience members met with Popovich to take pictures, receive autographs and share their opinions about the performances.

The next main stage performance at the BPAC will be Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m. featuring F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby.” For more information on tickets contact the ticket office at 662-846-4626, or visit www.bolognapac.com.
