Wildlife Society to host wild game tasting

By November 7, 2014Uncategorized

The Delta State Wildlife Society will host a Wild Game Party on Nov. 14 from 4-6:30 p.m. in Caylor 138. The event serves as a tasting of game animals such as deer, duck, turkey and rabbit.

“We’ll have regular food as well for those who don’t like it,” said Dr. A.H.M. Ali Reza, assistant professor of biology.

Reza said students hunt, collect the meat and then bring it to the event for tasting.

“This is to encourage students. We kind of encourage hunting because it’s a part of the culture,” said Reza.

In addition to the tasting, there will be a presentation titled “Current Issues in Mississippi Conservation” by Brad Young, executive director of the Mississippi Wildlife Foundation.

The event is free and open to the public, but donations are welcome to support the Wildlife Society. For those planning to attend, please RSVP to Reza at areza@deltastate.edu so the group can have an accurate headcount.
