Young to perform recital

The Department of Music announces the junior recital of Rory Dale Young II Nov. 6 at 1:40 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center.

The Department of Music at Delta State University is pleased to announce the junior recital of Rory Dale Young II, a double major in music education and music performance. The recital will take place Nov. 6 at 1:40 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center.

Dr. Kumiko Shimizu, faculty collaborative pianist and associate professor of music, will accompany Young. The recital is free and open to the public.

Young is the son of Rory and the late Kaffie Young of Corinth, Miss. He is a saxophone student under Dr. Bret Pimentel, assistant professor of music. Young transferred to Delta State from Northeast Community College, and since coming to Delta State, he has performed with the DSU Wind Ensemble, the DSU Symphonic Band, the Pride of the Delta Marching Band, the DSU Jazz Band, the DSU Saxophone Quartet and the DSU Wednesday Night Steel Band. He is an active member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. 

Young will be performing works by Antonio Vivaldi and Paul Creston.
