The Delta State University Alumni Association recently traveled to Dallas, Texas to host an alumni gathering prior to the Statesmen football game at AT&T Stadium. The Statesmen participated in the Lone Star Football Festival, a three-day event at the home of the Dallas Cowboys.

The Alumni Association hosted a tour of the stadium that morning at 10 a.m. for any alumni and friends who were in the area. The guided tour lasted an hour and showed the group the ins-and-outs of Jerry’s World.

Prior to kickoff, the Alumni Association held a social at Club Lite, a field-level venue on the visitors’ side of the stadium. The unique setting gave fans the chance to be right in the middle of the action and be eye-level with the Statesmen football team. There was also access to the Delta State section of the stands. The event was free and open to anyone attending the game. Over 250 people took part in the social.

“This was a great opportunity for our student athletics, alumni, friends and fans to experience a Delta State football game at AT&T Stadium,” said Richard Myers, National Alumni Association president. “We were very pleased with the turnout from our greater Dallas Area Alumni Chapter as well as our traveling Statesmen fans.”
