The Delta State University Department of Music will celebrate excellence in performance, scholarship, alumni achievement and program support at its annual honors recital.  The recital will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 15, in the Delta and Pine Land Theatre of the Bologna Performing Arts Center on the campus of Delta State University.

The five outstanding students performing in the recital are Jessica Egdorf, flute, from Hernando; Josh Reeves, baritone, from Southaven; Robyn Rouse, flute, from Gulfport; Dominique Smith, soprano, from Greenville; and Brian Thomson, trombone, from Greenwood. All performers have earned a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in music courses and are chosen by the music faculty through an audition process.

In addition, the annual Music Alumnus/a of the Year, Service, and Philanthropy Awards will be announced and presented. New faculty and student members of the Pi Kappa Lambda national music honor society are also recognized. The event is one of the highlights of the calendar of events sponsored and presented by Department of Music each year.

The campus and public are cordially invited to attend. There is no charge for admission, although donations to the Department of Music fund through the Delta State Foundation are warmly accepted. For more information, contact Dr. Mark Butler, interim chair of the Music Department, at 662-846-4615.
