Italian PhD researcher Giusy Pappalardo recently visited the Delta Center for Culture and Learning at Delta State University to investigate the Mississippi Delta National Heritage Area. Her doctoral dissertation is an analysis of the community planning processes that will lead to the restoration of a major river system in Sicily. As part of her preparation, she is reviewing the planning processes of several Mississippi entities while she is supported by a fellowship at Mississippi State University.
