The Delta State University Alumni Association recently traveled to Memphis to support the Statesmen and Lady Statesmen basketball teams as they competed against Christian Brothers University. Prior to the game, the Alumni Association held a social on campus for all area alumni and friends of Delta State.
Delta State fans from DeSoto County, Memphis, and Cleveland were in attendance. The Alumni Association has been hosting this event for over a decade.
“We were very excited about the turnout we had,” said Jordan Thomas, assistant director of Alumni Affairs. “The Alumni Association strives to keep alumni engaged in university events and involved in their area. The energy from the social carried over to the basketball games, and everyone was there in support of their alma mater.”
After the social, the group walked over to Canale Arena for the games. The hospitality room also remained open during halftime and between the games for alumni and friends.
