Delta State’s Continuing Education offers senior adult computer classes

The Delta State University Continuing Education Department is offering two short, non-credit computer workshops designed specifically for senior adults. Delta State Computer Information Systems Instructor Lynn Byrd will lead both workshops which will take place in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

Introduction to Computer for Senior Adults
Participants age 50 and older will learn the basics about computers. This class will include topics such as word processing, email, Internet surfing, social networking, and other basic computer concepts.  Introduction to Computer will meet in Broom Hall, Room 173 on Thursdays, February 7, 14, 21, and 28 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The cost of the class will be $40.  

Introduction to Microsoft Office Applications
Senior Adult participants will gain an introduction to the features of the programs included in Microsoft Office and learn the basic uses.   Topics will include the basics of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. The class takes place on Thursdays, March 7, 14, 21, and 28 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.   Class will be held in Broom Hall, Room 173 and will cost $40.
