The Delta Music Institute, a music industry studies program at Delta State University, will host premier booking agent and event manager Howard Stovall on Thursday, November 29, at 6 p.m. in Studio B of the DMI on the Delta State campus for an interactive discussion as part of the DMI All Access series. DMI All Access is a series of open forums and lectures throughout the academic year featuring industry professionals from various areas of the music business.

Howard Stovall has served as managing partner of Resource Entertainment Group since its founding in 2003. Stovall has served in an executive producer and CFO role for productions at, among others, House of Blues in Los Angeles (Blues Lifetime Achievement Awards, Ray Charles 70th birthday), the Kennedy Center in Washington (Blues Hall of Fame), and for five internationally televised music award events.  He has also produced a wide range of corporate events, including last fall’s roll-off of the first Mississippi-built Corolla for Toyota. Howard served as Chairman of the Board of the International Association of Corporate Entertainment Producers from 2009-2011. As a booking agent and entertainment programmer, Howard works with clients ranging from the Silver Star Casino in Choctaw, MS to the Carriage Crossing Shopping Center in Collierville, TN and other corporate entities.

Prior to REG’s founding, Howard worked as a project manager for Harrah’s Entertainment in information technologies, and served as the executive director of The Blues Foundation.

A supporter of grass roots music development, Stovall has served on the advisory board for the Mississippi Governor’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts and for the Center for the Study of Southern Culture at Ole Miss.

Stovall is a Yale graduate with a degree in Economics and Political Science.
