Pig Pickin’ T-shirt and BBQ Tickets are on sale now at the Hugh Ellis Walker Alumni-Foundation House. BBQ tickets are $6, and T-shirts are $10 for children, $15 for adults, and $20 for sizes XXL and above. Currently T-shirts are available in the following colors: black, Carolina blue, military green, berry, orange, azalea, and charcoal. Other colors will be arriving this afternoon: indigo blue, yellow, kiwi, coral, and Delta State green. Cash, checks, and credit cards are all accepted. BBQ serving lines will be open Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m.
“We’ve had great responses about the wide range of color choices for the shirts,” said Cheryl Oleis, senior secretary for the alumni office. “The new colors – military green, berry, indigo blue, and coral – have been a big hit. While people tend to want to buy anything green to support Delta State, it has been hard for them to pass up some of the other fun color options. My suggestion is to buy two!”
The Alumni Association is partnering with the Bologna Performing Arts Center to give Pig Pickin’ attendees an added bonus.
“The Bologna is excited to support the Alumni Association’s Pig Pickin’,” said Laura Howell, interim executive director of the BPAC. “The Bologna will be offering exclusive coupons to Pig Pickin’ attendees to receive a free ticket to the upcoming performance of The Capitol Steps on Sunday, October 7, at 7:30 p.m.”
The coupons will be buy one ticket, get another ticket free. If you purchase your Pig Pickin’ tickets in advance, you’ll still be able to get your coupon at the Park Saturday. No coupons will be given out before then.
Pig Pickin’ festivities begin Friday night with the Polk’s Sponsors’ Social, the Young Alumni Tailgating event, and live entertainment provided by Back 40 in Statesmen Park.
