Students attending the sixth annual Delta Music Institute Summer Camp will present a free concert of commercial music on Saturday, July 14, at 7 p.m. in the Bologna Performing Arts Center, on the campus of Delta State University in Cleveland. The concert will include material from several commercial music genres, along with several original songs created by the camp’s songwriting students.

Twenty-five students  ranging in age from 15-18 came from Mississippi, Arkansas, and Louisiana to participate in the 2012 DMI Summer Camp.  The intensive, six-day residential camp experience explores three music career tracks, including audio engineering, band performance, and songwriting.  All three of these career tracks will be integrated together, culminating in a recording session at the DMI studios and showcase performance at the BPAC. Instructors for the Delta Music Institute Summer Camp are Delta Music Institute faculty members along with visiting music industry professionals.

The concert is free and supporters of these talented young musicians are encouraged to attend and enjoy the show.
