Delta State awards Rock River Foundation Scholarships

Delta State University’s College of Business recently awarded the first Rock River Foundation Scholarships at its annual awards banquet. The Rock River Foundation in Charleston, Miss., an educational grant-matching program created by actor Morgan Freeman, provided $15,000 to the College of Business to award to junior and senior business majors who display academic achievement. The average grade point average of the recipients was 3.20. Dr. Cooper Johnson, chair of the College of Business’s Entrepreneurship in Business Technology, submitted a proposal and led efforts in obtaining the scholarships.

The 25 scholarship recipients are William Abraham, Jamiya Boddie, and Dillon Moon from Cleveland; Virginia Adams, Britanny Hill, and Sydney Bright from Yazoo City; Chrisa Doss and Ivory Stuckey from Clarksdale; Cailey Adams from Belzoni; Michael Anderson from Indianola; Christian Barrett from Bay Minette, Ala.; Joshua Crowdus from Houma, La.; Morris Grant from Terry; Kathrine Holloway from Sunflower; Kesheanna Jackson from West Helena, Ark.; Guillaume Lacour from Saint Denis en Val, France; Ben Little from Starkville; Christopher Livingston from Tutwiler; Laura Nichols from Columbia, S.C.; Alexander Prisock from Germantown, Tenn.; Joel Salazer from Barranquilla, Columbia; Cordell Sayles from Greenville; Alyssa Shetley from Salem, Ill.; Steven Vinson from Southaven; and Lamarcus Williams from Marks.
