Reeves to present Junior Voice Recital in the Bologna Performing Arts Center

Joshua ReevesThe Delta State University Department of Music presents Joshua Reeves in his junior voice recital at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center.

Dr. Kumiko Shimizu, faculty accompanist and assistant professor of music at Delta State, will serve as collaborative pianist for the recital.  

Reeves is the son of Rick and Karen Reeves of Southaven, and is a junior vocal performance major.  He is the student of Dr. Mary Lenn Buchanan, professor of voice and opera at Delta State.

Since his arrival at Delta State in the fall of 2009, Reeves has been an active member of the Delta Chorale and Chamber Ensembles, performed in the DSU opera, and performed with five broadway stars on the BPAC stage. He has also performed leading roles in multiple shows such as, Oklahoma, Jekyll and Hyde the musical, and Guys and Dolls with different companies. He currently serves as president of the Theta Upsilon chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

Reeves will be performing the works of Antonio Vivaldi, Johannes Brahms, Giacomo Puccini, Henri Duparc, and Thomas Pasatieri.
