“The Last Days of Judas Iscariot”

Delta State University’s Delta Players will present Stephen Adly Guirgis’s “The Last Days of Judas Iscariot” from Monday, November 14 – Wednesday, November 16. Performances will be in Jobe Hall and begin each night at 7pm.

“The Last Days of Judas Iscariot“ is a scintillating courtroom drama set in Purgatory that addresses the central question: Should Judas Iscariot – Jesus Christ’s betrayer – be allowed into heaven? The play, told in the poetic voice of contemporary American playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis, moves swiftly between vibrant courtroom interrogations and poignant disquisitions on faith, despair, remorse, and forgiveness.

“The Last Days of Judas Iscariot“ is filled with both raucous humor and raw emotion, but it is decidedly a show for mature audiences. Tickets for these performances are free.  Michael Ewing, the visiting director in the Division of Languages and Literatures, directs a cast comprised of both students and members of the Cleveland community.
