Dr. Luther Brown, director of the Delta Center for Culture and Learning at Delta State University, recently attended a training workshop at the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) in Washington, DC.  The Delta Center was awarded a grant for almost $180,000 in support of its summer workshops, titled The Most Southern Place on Earth:  Music, History and Culture of the Mississippi Delta.  These workshops will be offered in 2012 between June 24 and 30, and again between July 8 and 14, and are available to all teachers as part of the NEH series Landmarks in American History and Culture.  As part of the training session in Washington, Brown presented a talk about past workshops that the Delta Center has conducted with NEH support.  Complete information about the workshops is available at www.blueshighway.org, or from the Delta Center 662-846-4311.
