Kachenovich to present recital of original compositions at Delta State

Kyle KachenovichThe Delta State University Department of Music will present a recital of original compositions by Kyle Kachenovich at 7:30 p.m., on Monday, April 25, in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center.

This event will feature performances by several music students and faculty. It is being presented by Kachenovich as part of his Senior Capstone Project for the Bachelor of Arts degree in music.
        
He is the son of Steve and Anita Kachenovich of Olive Branch. He studies piano under Dr. Karen Fosheim, professor of piano at Delta State University, who is also his advisor for this project.  

Since entering Delta State University in 2006, he has been involved in the Wind Ensemble, Delta Singers, Opera, Marching Band, performed as a collaborative pianist, and taught in the Piano Preparatory Program. He has been selected twice as a performer in the Department of Music Honors Recital.  

In his time at Delta State University, Kachenovich has premiered several original works including "Rêve," "Chemical Elegy," and "Dum Vita Est."  He also reduced and accompanied the opera course’s performance of "Maria and Draco."  

The final portion of Mr. Kachenovich’s project will be premiered by the Delta State University Wind Ensemble, Chorale, and Singers at 7:30 p.m., April 26, in the Delta Pine and Land Theatre of the Bologna Performing Arts Center.

The event is free and open to the public.
