Herron wins prestigious blackboard exemplary course award

Dr. Teri A. HerronDr. Teri A. Herron, assistant professor of music at Delta State University, will be presented with a Blackboard Catalyst Exemplary Course Award at the BbWorld Conference in July of this year.  

Each year Blackboard Course Management System evaluation teams and judges select a handful of courses from colleges and universities worldwide that embody quality instructional design, new media innovation, and high academic standards.  

Herron’s online course “Music in American Culture” will be among the select group from around the world honored this year .  Additionally, from this group she has been chosen as one of the top developers to present a panel presentation on highlights and real world examples from successful online courses.

Herron is offering a brown-bag lecture at noon on Friday, April 29, in Room 114 of Bailey Hall, for those interested in the Blackboard Exemplary Course Program. She will discuss her course design strategies as well as the time and effort that go into creating an award-winning online course. This lecture is free and open to the public.
