Scholarship recipients from the Delta Music Institute (DMI), a recording arts and music industry studies program at Delta State University, were recently honored at an awards dinner held in Recording Studio A of the DMI on the campus.

Jason and Lori Morris of Cleveland generously donate annual funds to support DMI students in the program’s two performing bands, Ol’ Skool Revue and DeltaRoX. Several students benefit from these funds each year, with one student being named the Morris Scholar.

Entertainment for the event was provided by DMI students Travis Calvin and Joanna Sabine, and the group Southern Halo. Southern Halo is made up of Natalia, Christina, and Hannah Morris, daughters of Jason and Lori Morris.

The Delta Music Institute is an independent center of study under the College of Arts & Sciences of Delta State University. The focus of the DMI is to provide students with a broad and thorough education in the technological, creative, and business areas of the music and entertainment industry.
