Calhoun to present senior voice recital at Delta State

The Delta State University Department of Music will present Latoya Takia Calhoun in her senior voice recital  at 1:49 p.m.,  April 28, in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center..

Calhoun a music education major, is the wife of Gamal Calhoun and the daughter of Eddie and Gracie Edwards of Cleveland. She studies voice under Dr. Mary Lenn Buchanan, professor of voice at Delta State.

Since entering Delta State in 2007,  Calhoun has been a part of the Chorale, Chamber Singers, Opera, Community Drumming, and Mu Phi Epsilon Professional Music Fraternity. Latoya plays piano for First Baptist Church in Mound Bayou and Mt. Pilgrim M.B. Church in Cleveland, where she teaches praise dance and trains the gospel choirs.

The recital is free and open to the public
