On Thursday, January 27, 2011 Laken Wilson was crowned Miss Delta State University 2011. Wilson, 18 is a fashion and merchandising major from Cleveland. For her talent, she tap danced to Jerry Lee Lewis’, “Great Balls of Fire.” Wilson’s platform was “Improving the Quality of Life for the Elderly.”
As Miss Delta State University, she will vie for the Miss Mississippi crown in July’s pageant in Vicksburg. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mitch Wilson of Cleveland.
The Miss Delta State University Pageant, produced by the University Pageant Board, a Delta State student organization, and sponsored by the Student Government Association, was held in the Bologna Performing Arts Center located on the Delta State campus.
