Delta State Alumnus’ artwork on display at The Warehouse

By January 14, 2011General

"Cebolla Roja" (Spanish for red onion)A solo exhibition of paintings by artist Brandon Moon (Delta State,  2003, BFA) runs through Feb. 1,  at the Warehouse in Cleveland.

The works on exhibit at the Warehouse, as hosted by Locals, range from oils, abstract and representational, to mixed media. Discussing the range of his work, Moon says he likes using sculpture and fiber with traditional paints for a “three-dimensional approach to the two dimensional canvas.”  Using texture with color also provides, he intends, “a more tactile work that serves to ground the intangible into a more concrete forum.”

Following his student career at Delta State, Moon attended Savannah College of Art and Design, where he studied oil painting at the graduate level.  Now located in Columbus, Ohio, Moon has recently had two solo exhibits of his work (Art at 185 2010; Art Crawl 2010) and participated in a group exhibition in July 2009 (Art at 185).
